Our fair is full!  We are only accepting applications for our waiting list.  Regardless of your participation, you're still invited to attend as a shopper!

What is this Children's Business Fair?

The Children’s Business Fair (created by Acton) inspires children to discover their inner entrepreneur.  The largest entrepreneurship event for kids in North America, this one-day market gives children the opportunity to showcase their very own businesses.

Who can participate?

Any child who will be between the ages of 6-14 on the day of the Fair is eligible to apply for a booth.  Applications must be submitted online at the national Children's Business Fair website.  Once your application is reviewed, you will be notified if you are accepted.  Up to three children may operate a business.  Please submit one application per business (space is provided for all participants information).

What if someone else has the same business idea?

Two cupcake businesses? Not a problem. In general, we will let market forces play out, though we will let later entries know if another applicant has a similar idea so the later entrant can decide what to do.

How will the fair be set up?  What's expected of participants?

Each business will be given a 'booth' with a 6-foot table, full-cover tenting (10x10-feet), and 1 chair.  Table cloths are required (we will provide one white table cloth, but you are welcome to bring your own covering).  We are not able to accommodate businesses requiring electricity.  Businesses are required to conduct their own sales and handle all money.

This event is designed to give children the experience of selling a product or service. If a parent is found selling or promoting a child’s product or service, their child’s business will be disqualified from the competition. Parents of younger children may sit in the booth, but the children should be responsible for set up, customer interaction, and sales.

What awards are businesses eligible to receive?

Businesses will be broken into two age categories, 6-10 and 11-14.  Two teams of judges will visit with businesses and evaluate all aspects of the booth.  Each age category will offer the following awards:

  • Most Original Idea
  • Best Customer Service
  • Best Presentation
